Google Refined Search for Android Can Help Boost SEO

Google's recently launched refined search options box has been made available for the mobile operating system Android, allowing search engine optimization (SEO) professionals to further boost website profiles in the mobile market.

The refined search box, also released for the iPhone and Palm WebOS platforms, allows users to filter their results according to various parameters. For example, one can exclude previously visited sites, rule out shopping sites, or limit their results to specific site types such as blogs or forums.

The refinements may have been added as a response to Bing, a rival search engine from Microsoft, according to experts. Bing had made slight gains in the past few weeks, although Google still has the biggest share of the mobile search market.

Experts also believe that the addition of refined search to Android will vastly expand the reach of their SEO techniques. Many agree that the new system will influence a larger pool of searches, especially as more and more people join the mobile Web market.

The search box is also available for smartphones using PalmWebOS and iPhone OS, two of the leading mobile operating systems in the US, making the refined search option even more promising for SEO professionals.

Android, developed by Google and shared by the Open Handset Alliance, is expected to dictate mobile SEO trends and strategies in the next few years. Combined with the refined search and Google's position in the search engine market, its market share is expected to rival the combined impact of both PalmWebOS and the iPhone OS.
